Edward possesive and controlling?

Ok I read this elsewhere and thought it makes an interesting topic.

Some people perceive the character of Edward as possesive and controlling of Bella.

What are your thoughts on this?

Possessive yes. Controlling, a little bit. But, these don't necessarily have to be negative traits. He's posessive and controlling because of his total fear of something happening to Bella. He is more world wise than she is, plus as he can hear the thoughts of others, that would make for a little paranoia I think.
Who cares, he's hot!
